Ukroboronprom preparing mass production of modified IFV-1
Ukroboronprom state concern will begin mass production of the modified Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV-1) in 2015.
The press service of Ukroboronprom has reported that Zhytomyr Armored Fighting Vehicle Plant, which is incorporated into the concern, has started working on IFV-1 combat module equipment.
The concern said that new combat modules, which meet modern standards, will increase the efficiency of IFV-1 in combat.
The IFV-1 is a high mobility armored track vehicle, designed to transport infantry into battle and to support infantry during combat. The vehicle can fire while moving. The vehicle can also overcome water obstacles and can be transported by air.
Zhytomyr Armored Fighting Vehicle Plant has started working in three shifts to fulfill the Ministry of Defense state order on armor maintenance. The state enterprise has organized mobile maintenance crews to repair and overhaul equipment in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone.
