Gas supply to ATO zone halts due to critical damage to gas networks – Naftogaz
Gas supply to the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone has been halted due to critical damage the gas transportation infrastructure suffered during the conflict, the press service of Naftogaz Ukrainy reported on Thursday.
"Because of the numerous damages of the gas transportation infrastructure caused by shelling and mining of the hostilities zone, the supply of natural gas into the ATO zone was halted from February 18. The resumption of gas supplies is currently impossible because active military actions in the area continue," the statement reads.
The Ukrainian gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz said it was ready to begin repairs as soon as hostilities cease, and that the life of its employees will not be endangered.
