Finance minister expects first disbursement of IMF credit will be received in early March

Finance Minister of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko expects that the first disbursement of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan fund will be received in early March, she said during her trip to Kyiv region on Friday.

Jaresko said that Ukraine is to fulfill preliminary conditions, in particular, passing amendments to the 2015 national budget, and approving the president's law on affiliated structures of the banking system. She added that this is required to be made by late February, and that all partners in the parliamentary coalition are needed for this task.

"In the first days of March the IMF could approve the program, and by the end of the first week I'd like to see the first disbursement of the funds in the NBU's accounts," she said.

She said that the sum of the first disbursement is being discussed, but she wants Ukraine to receive as large a sum as possible first. She said as a rule, the IMF does not provide over 60% of the total sum at once.

Jaresko expressed hope that the first IMF disbursement will have a stabilizing effect on the Ukrainian economy.
