Talks with IMF on $17.5 bln EFF program end successfully, Kyiv awaits formal decision from IMF Executive Board – Yatseniuk
Ukrainian authorities have successfully ended negotiations with the mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the new four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) worth $17.5 billion, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.
"The talks have been finished, we're waiting for the formal decision from the IMF Executive Board," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
Yatseniuk said that the EFF will open aid from other international organizations and partners for Ukraine, bringing the total financing to $25 billion.
"We ask the IMF to approve the four-year EFF by the [IMF] Executive Board, which will allow Ukraine to additionally receive around $25 billion of additional aid during four years, and $17.5 billion are the funds the IMF will provide Ukraine with to stabilize the financial situation," the prime minister said.
