Government will make every effort to complete Beskydsky tunnel - Kava
The construction of the Beskydsky railway tunnel will be completed and it will be put into operation, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure.
"In fact, it is one of the major infrastructure projects implemented using funds from the EBRD and EIB," Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kava said during an inspection of the tunnel.
He noted that 850 meters of the tunnel has been built and that the construction has nearly reached the middle of the tunnel, another 900 meters towards the western entrance of the tunnel needs to be completed.
"I am convinced the government will make every effort to complete this project. I am confident the project will remain a priority and its construction should not be stopped," the expert said.
As reported, the European Investment Bank, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Ukrzaliznytsia on May 19 last year signed an agreement on the bank's issuing of a loan in the amount of EUR55 million for the construction of the Beskydsky railway tunnel.
