Ukraine, IMF draft memo on new cooperation program – Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that Ukraine and International Monetary Fund (IMF) have already drafted a memorandum on a new cooperation program.
"We prepared a memorandum. This would be a new memorandum and a new program. Probably today, if we finish the work, we will make a relative statement together with [IMF Managing Director] Christine Lagarde," the president said in an interview with Bloomberg Europe TV on Wednesday.
He said that after the meeting with Lagarde he would fly back to Kyiv.
He added that a new reform program would be elaborated on with IMF in late January.
"I believe we'll have a very ambitious reform program elaborated on with the IMF in late January," he said at the "Future of Ukraine" session in Davos on Wednesday.
Poroshenko also said that Ukraine may enlist the financial support of partners "from Canada to Japan" during the bilateral talks.
