Important to maintain dialogue between EU, Russia on energy – Mogherini
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini has said that it would be wise to continue to engage with Russia over energy issues.
During a press conference on the results of the Foreign Affairs Council, she said that EU foreign ministers backed dialogue between experts in several fields, including the energy sector.
"Energy – as you know, this is not new – this has been a dialogue that has been going on throughout the crisis, in particular over the last months, and is going to continue. To explore elements for person-to-person contacts that could be useful to engage with not so much the Russian authorities, but the Russian population with the European Union," she stressed.
