State-run national nuclear energy company Energoatom has borrowed UAH 750 million from state-run Ukreximbank, in the form of a multicurrency revolving credit facility.
The credit agreement was signed on January 6, 2015, Energoatom announced in the Visnyk Derzhavnykh Zakupivel state procurements bulletin.
The funds were borrowed for 12 months at 22.29% per annum in hryvnias, or 12.3% per annum in U.S. dollars.
Another state-run bank, Oschadbank, bid in a tender with Ukreximbank. Oschadbank's bid was 25% per annum in hryvnias and 14.5% per annum in U.S. dollars.
Energoatom operates all four nuclear power plants in Ukraine. It operates 15 power units equipped with water-cooled power reactors, with a total installed electrical capacity of 13.835 GW.
Ukreximbank was founded in 1992, and is wholly owned by the state. The bank ranked second among 166 operating banks as of October 1, 2014, in terms of total assets worth UAH 131.527 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
