Private stevedoring companies invest UAH 640 mln in development of Odesa seaport in 2014
The total sum of investment from private stevedoring companies into the development of production facilities at Odesa maritime merchandise port reached some UAH 640 million in 2014, the press service of the port's administration has reported, referring to Port Head Mykhailo Sokolov.
The press service said that as for investment projects that were realized last year, he emphasized the commissioning of the first stage of the Quarantine Mole new container terminal, with a capacity of 250,000 TEU.
The terminal is being built on a parity basis with company-investor – HPC Ukraine subsidiary.
Design work is being carried out on the reconstruction of berth 7 and the concert and exhibition complex at the seaport building and a program on the upgrade of some mooring line facilities at the former Ukraina shipyard has begun.
