Third ship with 78,000 tonnes of coal from South Africa docks at Illichivsk port
Illichivsk maritime merchandise port (Odesa region) after a short break has resumed the unloading of ships which transported imported steam coal from South Africa.
The port’s press service reported that on January 10 the ship Rosco Poplar was moored to berth 1 with 77,910 tonnes of coal aboard.
According to the port, the ship-warehouse-dump trucks scheme is used to send cargo to its final destination.
Coal is unloaded by two container reloaders. Loading operations amount to some 15,000 tonnes of coal being unloaded per day. It is planned to finish unloading the ship by January 16.
