VAT refunds in December 2014 amounted to UAH 1.24 billion compared to UAH 3.25 billion in November, and UAH 4.5-4.8 billion in September and October, according to the State Treasury Service.
The largest recipients of VAT refunds in December were Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, located in territory not under Ukrainian control - UAH 271.9 million, Mykolaiv Alumina Refinery controlled by Russia's Rusal - UAH 200.4 million, and state-owned Odesa port-side chemical plant – UAH 197.2 million.
Large sums were returned to Zaporizhia-based Motor Sich – UAH 96.9 million, Mykolaiv-based Nibulon agricultural company – UAH 94 million and Donetsk confectionery company AVK – UAH 62.5 million.
Among those companies who received more than UAH 30 million in VAT refunds were: RM-Invest manufacturer of ceramic tiles (Atem brand) – UAH 44.4 million, Azovzahalmash Trading House – UAH 35.4 million, Avdiyivka coke chemical plant – UAH 35.25 million and Nord Trade Alliance – UAH 34.4 million.
