Nazarbayev ready to help speed up peace process in Donbas
Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said he is ready to contribute to restoring economic cooperation between Kyiv and Astana and speeding up the peace process in Donbas, according to the official website of the Ukrainian president.
He said this at a meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Monday.
"Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed the importance of compliance with the Minsk format and expressed his readiness to join the peace settlement process," reads the statement.
Poroshenko, in turn, thanked his counterpart for his clear position on the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
"I am very grateful for your strong and consistent position in support of the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine," he said.
