Poroshenko, Biden discuss financial assistance to Ukraine from US, EU and other organizations
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has talked to U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden on the phone, the presidential press service has reported.
"The sides discussed the coordination of actions on the provision to Ukraine of a financial aid package from the U.S., the EU and international financial organizations, which will help create a reliable basis for rapid and effective steps on the implementation of reforms," reads the report.
Poroshenko stressed the importance of the signing by U.S. President Barack Obama of the Congress-approved Ukraine Freedom Support Act and welcomed the U.S. position on additional sanctions introduced due to the annexation of Crimea, the press service said.
Poroshenko and Biden agreed to continue coordinating actions on the implementation of the peace plan to resolve the situation in Donbas and maintaining financial and economic cooperation.
