All power market operators allowed to import electricity
Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers will allow all companies operating in the Ukrainian power market to import electricity, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said.
"The government has just passed a decision to allow any company operating in the electricity market to directly buy electricity from abroad. Those who're able to import electricity at power rates that don't exceed those in Ukraine are welcome," he said in a public statement on Friday.
According to the premier, state-run Ukrinterenergo was earlier authorized to import electricity, however, the company failed to sign relevant contracts.
