Ostchem does not store gas in UGS, some volumes belong to its separate enterprises - Ukrtransgaz
Ostchem Holding, belonging to Dmytro Firtash, does not store gas in the underground gas storage facilities (UGS) of PJSC Ukrtransgaz, the press service of the state-owned company has said.
"Ostchem does not store gas in the storage facilities of Ukrtransgaz. Ostchem's enterprises store some gas volumes in the storage facilities of Ukrtransgaz. The residual volume of gas, belonging to these enterprises after the fulfillment of applications they submit, is being strictly accounted. Ukrtransgaz has not received appeals from the competent authorities concerning these volumes of gas," reads a statement.
As reported, on the eve Russia's Gazprombank demanded Ostchem repay a loan of $842.5 million.
At the request of the bank, if the loan and interest accrued thereon are not repaid by December 30, 2014, it will file a claim for loan repayment to the guarantors of the loan agreement, namely four factories producing mineral fertilizers that are part of Ostchem, and call down a guarantee of 5.679 billion cubic meters of gas being stored in Ukraine's underground gas storage facilities.
