Ukravtodor estimates minimum funding required for road maintenance at UAH 6 bln
The State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) has estimated the minimum need for funds for road maintenance in the country at UAH 6 billion per year, First Deputy Head of Ukravtodor Yevhen Barakh said this at the Cabinet.
According to him, about UAH 2 billion remained from more than UAH 16 billion allocated in the current year for road maintenance.
Barakh also reported that the amount of budget funds, which will be provided to Ukravtodor in 2015, could be slightly higher than in 2014 due to the exchange rate difference.
At the same time, he noted that any new large-scale infrastructure projects are unlikely to be implemented in the coming year. At the same time, he said the agency would continue cooperation with international financial institutions on the existing infrastructure projects.
In addition, the official said Ukravtodor hopes in 2015 to establish a special road fund, which would allow to maximally correctly accumulate funds, in particular those received from payment of excise duty on fuel, and use them for the development of the industry.
