EUR 200 mln of EIB loan to go on Donbas recovery - minister
Ukraine and the European Investment Bank (EIB) will soon sign a loan agreement for EUR 200 million (about UAH 3.76 billion), which will be spent on restoring regional life support systems and infrastructure in Donbas, Deputy Premier, Regional Development Minister Hennadiy Zubko announced on Channel 5 on December 14, the ministry's press service reported.
He said that to achieve this, the government in November assigned UAH 375 million, of which UAH 150 million will be spent on rebuilding the infrastructure of Luhansk region, with the rest going to the Donetsk region.
Zubko stressed that control over proper usage of these funds must be exercised by local communities.
"Every community should independently determine which facilities need to be restored most and should get this money," the deputy prime minister said.
