Ukraine received over 40 mcm of Russian gas on Dec 9
Naftogaz Ukrainy imported nearly 43 million cubic meters of gas under contract with Russia's Gazprom on December 9, Ukrainian pipeline operator Ukrtransgaz told Interfax.
"Nearly 43 mcm of gas were received for Ukraine's needs on December 9," the company's spokesman, Maxim Belyavsky, said.
Naftogaz transferred $378 million to Gazprom on December 5 in prepayment for 1 bcm of gas this month. It placed an order for 43.5 mcm of gas per day for Ukrainian consumers on December 9 and Gazprom started to supply the gas at 0900 Kyiv time the same day.
