Raids at Mariupol seaport conducted under investigation into abuse of power by port managers
Officers of the investigation department of the chief department of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine in Donetsk region with support of the special regional police service on December 9, 2014 conducted raids on the territory of Mariupol Maritime Merchandise Port (Donetsk region) as a part of a pretrial investigation into operation of the port's managers.
The public relations department of the Interior Ministry in Donetsk region said that the raids were conducted as a part of criminal proceedings opened by Prosecutor General's Office in Donetsk region (article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – abuse of power).
The port employees did not hinder conducting the raids. The pretrial investigation is underway.
