Ukraine draws down 20% of gas inventories since start of heating season
Gas volumes in Ukrainian underground storage facilities have declined by 20.8% or 3.487 billion cubic meters (bcm) since the start of the heating season (October 20) to 13.262 bcm as of December 6, Ukrtransgaz reported, citing operational data.
Ukraine has been withdrawing over 110 million cubic meters of gas a day from underground storage in December, including 122.26 mcm on December 6.
Ukraine withdrew about 10 mcm from underground storage on October 20, the first day of the heating season.
Ukraine has 12 underground storage facilities with capacity to hold about 31 bcm. All are operated by Ukrtransgaz.
