Russia has resumed coal exports to Ukraine after a two-week gap, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy and the Coal Industry said on Saturday.
The ministry said in a statement that trains were currently taking 50,000 tonnes of Russian coal to Ukrainian heat and power plants.
There have still been no official explanations from Russia as to why the Russian Railways (RZD) company suspended deliveries of coal that had already been paid for by DTEK and Centrenergo.
Ukraine is experiencing acute shortages of coal because of the conflict in the east of the country, where most of its coal mines are located.
