Belarus cannot ban transit of good from West through its territory - Lukashenko
Belarus will honor its obligations to other states on ensuring free transit of goods through its territory, President Alexander Lukashenko said.
"If Russia doesn't want some goods to be shipped through our territory to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China, Mongolia, Turkey and other countries, it should ban this transit itself, not we. We are a transit republic and we get some money from it, however small it is, and we can't ban the transit of goods through our territory to other countries," Lukashenko said.
Lukashenko listened to a report from the Belarusian government on Wednesday on measures to lift the ban on shipments of Belarusian products to Russia and the transit of goods whose imports Russia has banned.
"The transit ban violates all international legal norms," he said.
