No restrictions for foreign low-cost airlines in Ukraine, says UIA top manager
Foreign low-cost airlines are able to fly in Ukraine without restrictions if they do not want to use the Ukrainian quota for restricted routes, the head of the supervisory board of Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), Aron Maiberg, has said.
"If a low-cost airline wants to come to Ukraine it is enough to have an assignment in own country and when Ukraine joins the EU Open Skies all restrictions will be lifted," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
Maiberg also said that the increase in the consumer market should precede the arrival of low-cost airlines to the Ukrainian market.
