Fares in the Kyiv subway will be increased to UAH 4, First Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Ihor Nikonov has said at a press briefing.
"I think the fare in the underground will be about UAH 4 – no higher. But, of course, this must be considered by Kyiv City State Administration and undergo public hearings," he said.
Nikonov noted that it is planned to introduce a system of travel documents, under which the fare will be lower. At the same time, he did not voice any specific figure.
With respect to the introduction of new fares in the Kyiv subway, he said it would be introduced not earlier than February 2015.
In addition, according to the official, it is planned to increase the cost of travel in ground municipal transport in the capital, but it will be less than UAH 4.
