Ukrainian PM Yatseniuk expects IMF assistance in pursuing balanced exchange rate policy
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has instructed the relevant ministries and agencies to hold negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission to discuss its possible assistance in securing a balanced exchange rate policy in Ukraine.
"I am instructing the Finance Ministry and all central executive government bodies to immediately meet with the IMF mission, and I hope that IMF experts will help the National Bank of Ukraine in pursuing a balanced exchange rate policy," Yatseniuk said at a government meeting on Wednesday.
The government expects support from international institutions in establishing peace in Ukraine and financial assistance, he said.
"We expect and hope for a joint and consolidated position and real assistance and support, including in terms of financial and macroeconomic policy matters," Yatseniuk said.
