Naftogaz examining sum of Gazprom's payment for gas transit via Ukraine – Prodan

National JSC Naftogaz Ukrainy has still been examining the sum of the payment transferred by Russia's Gazprom for natural gas transit shipments via Ukraine, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Prodan told reporters in Kyiv on Monday.

In his words, the acceptance of the payment is directly connected with the arbitration dispute between Naftogaz and Gazprom.

"Naftogaz is currently examining the sum of the transferred payment. We're now in arbitration, and Naftogaz believes that the sum of this payment should correspond to the conditions [of the claim] the Ukrainian side has lodged with the Arbitration Institute against the Russian side," he said.
