Sales of new vehicles in Ukraine in September down by 3.5 times
The sales of new motor vehicles in Ukraine in September 2014 decreased by 3.5 times compared to the same month in 2013 and by 10% compared to August this year, to 6,370 units.
According to a report by the Ukrautoprom association, such sales were the worst result in the last four months. The greatest decline to August this year and September last year (14% and 75% respectively) was recorded in the sales of commercial vehicles (411 units were sold).
The leader on the market of new commercial vehicles last month was Volkswagen with the sale of 72 cars (39% more than in August 2014, but 71% less than in September 2013), Renault ranked second with 63 cars, Fiat - third, whose dealers sold 45 cars.
Some 5,788 new cars were registered in September, according to the association, which is 10% less than in August and 72% less than in September 2013.
"The worst result was only in May, when the car market operators sold 5,675 cars," reads the report.
