Ukraine by October 9 exports 9.4 mln tonnes of grain
Grain exports from Ukraine since the beginning of the current marketing year (MY, July 2014-June 2015) and as of October 9 amounted to 9.4 million tonnes, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food.
According to its data, in particular, the country exported 5.58 million tonnes of wheat, 3 million tonnes of barley, 704,000 tonnes of maize, and 125,000 tonnes of other grains.
Another 258,000 tonnes of grains as of this date had been shipped on board ships. Thus, the volume of exported grain and crops prepared for exports amounted to nearly 9.66 million tonnes.
As reported, with reference to data from the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, grain exports from Ukraine in the 2013/2014 marketing year amounted to 32.4 million tonnes, which is 42.1% more than in the previous season. In 2013 Ukraine harvested a record high grain harvest of nearly 63 million tonnes.
