Inflation in Ukraine speeds to 2.9% in September – statistics
Inflation in Ukraine in September 2014 sped up to 2.9% from 0.8% in August 2014 and 0.4% in July 2014.
Since the beginning of 2014, consumer prices in Ukraine have grown by 16.2%, the State Statistics Service reported on Monday.
Year-over-year inflation accelerated to 17.5% from 14.2% in August, 12.6% in July, 12% in June, and 10.9% in May.
As reported, Ukraine in 2013 saw a 0.5% increase in consumer prices, whereas they dropped by 0.2% in 2012.
The Ukrainian government and the National Bank of Ukraine forecast inflation in 2014 at 19%.
