Final round of Ukraine-Russia-EU gas talks will take place in September – Yatseniuk
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk forecasts that the final stage of the trilateral gas talks among Ukraine, Russia, and the European Union will take place in September.
"A decision has been taken to hold trilateral consultations. I've had an unsuccessful round of talks with the Russians. I hope that in September we'll have a definitive final stage of these negotiations with the participation of European Commissioner Oettinger, the Ukrainian and Russian [energy] ministers," he said in an interview with leading Ukrainian TV channels on Friday.
At the same time, Yatseniuk said that Ukraine cannot stop buying Russian gas and needs to buy 5 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia to live through the winter.
