Inflation in 2015 could be less than 10%, says NBU governor
Inflation in 2015 could be less than 10%, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Valeriya Gontareva has said.
"In 2014, consumer prices will grow by some 17%, and in 2015, inflation will not exceed one-digit figures," reads a posting on the Facebook page of the NBU, referring to Gontareva.
According to the report, in H2, 2014 it is expected that inflation will considerably slow, as the major of inflation factors have worked in the first half of the year.
As reported, the Ukrainian government in April approved the draft budget resolution for 2015, which foresees that GDP will grow by 1.7% in 2015 and inflation will slow to 5.4%.
Earlier Gontareva said that inflation in 2014 could accelerate to 17-19% under the pressure of devaluation of the national currency and the increase in the regulated tariffs.
