Ukrainian weather center forecasts gross grain harvest at 63 mln t in 2014
Gross grain harvest in Ukraine this year could be 63 million tonnes, the Ukrainian weather center has said.
"According to the forecast, gross grain harvest in Ukraine will total 63 million tonnes. It will be one of the largest," Director of the Ukrainian weather center, Mykola Kulbida, said at a briefing on Monday.
He said that winter wheat harvest will total around 22.5 million tonnes and corn harvest – 29.34 million tonnes.
Kulbida said that the center's forecast includes around 1.1 million tonnes of harvest in Crimea.
As reported, in 2013, Ukraine's harvested around 63 million tonnes of grain which is 36.3% up on 2012.
