Parliament supports obligatory identification of farm animals in Ukraine
The Ukrainian parliament has supported the introduction of the obligatory identification and registration of farm animals in farms of all types of ownership in Ukraine.
A total of 234 lawmakers supported draft law No. 4987-1 on amendments to some Ukrainian laws regarding the identification and registration of animals.
The document is intended to harmonize Ukrainian laws in the area of identification and registration of animals with the EU laws to provide for access of Ukrainian animal products to the European market, create a system of control over the veterinary and sanitary state of farms and origin of meat and dairy products.
The draft law foresees the financing of the identification and registration of animals in farms from the national budget.
