Over 50 railway enterprises to be part of JSC Ukrainska Zaliznytsia
Public joint-stock company Ukrainska Zaliznytsia, 100% of the shares of which will be in state ownership, will be created on the basis of the Ukrainian Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia), and over 50 railway enterprises are being reorganized via mergers.
This is stipulated in cabinet resolution No. 200 of June 25, 2014 posted on the cabinet's Web site.
According to the report, the enterprises on the basis of which the public joint-stock company will be created include six railways, Popasna, Stryi, Darnytsia wagon repair plants, Starokostiantynivsky Concrete Tie Plant, state enterprises Vinnytsiatransprylad, Ukrainian transport service center Liski, Ukrainian special wagon operation center Ukrspetsvahon, Ukrainian railway refrigerator transportation center Ukrreftrans and the department of industrial enterprises of Ukrzaliznytsia.
The list also includes state enterprises Ukrzalizpostach, Ukrainian track work mechanization center, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lviv and Odesa railway transport research institutes, state railway transport research center, some design bureaus, the main data-processing center of Ukrzaliznytsia, the central communications station, Ukrainian transport and logistics center, the clearing center of the Infrastructure Ministry, Ukrainian Railway High-Speed Company and the editorial staff of the Magistral newspaper.
The list also includes 11 railway hospitals.
The charter capital of the newly created joint-stock company is formed via putting the property of Ukrzaliznytsia, the above-mentioned companies and 100% of state-owned shares in the charter capitals of sevel plants – Dnipropetrovsk Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant, Zaporizhia Electric Locomotive Repair Plant, Lviv Locomotive Repair Plant, Kyiv January 1918 Revolt Electric Wagon Repair Plant, Kyiv electrotechnical plant Transsignal, Korsten Concrete Tie Plant and Hnyvansky special reinforced concrete plant.
State-owned stakes in the charter capitals of Moldromukrtrans LLC (Moldova, 33.33%), ETRANSA Speditions AG (Austria, 25.72%), Breitspur Planungsgesellschaft mbH (Austria, 25%), Ukrtransleasing leasing company (47.67%), Ukrzovnishtrans international transport company (25.1%) and Inter-Polis insurance company (8.16%).
According to the resolution, the Infrastructure Ministry within two months is to take measures to reorganize Ukrzaliznytsia and the above-mentioned enterprises; jointly with Ukrzaliznytsia to draw up stocktaking acts, approve lists of land plots, the right to permanent use of which is put in the charter capital of the new joint-stock company; jointly with Ukrzaliznytsia to ensure the realization of measures on the independent appraisal of property within three months and submit draft regulations of the company and proposals on the members of the company's board, supervisory board and audit commission to the cabinet within five months.
