EU firms' role in Ukraine gas transport system operation will 'halt' South Stream - Yatseniuk
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said that establishing an operator for Ukraine's gas transport system and underground gas storage facilities involving companies from European Union countries and the United States will help both upgrade this system, boost its capitalization and respond to projects to build gas pipelines bypassing Ukraine.
"This will offer an opportunity to halt the construction of South Stream and send all volumes through Ukraine's gas transport system because member countries of the EU will be interested in that the most," he said in the Ukrainian parliament on Thursday, when presenting a government-proposed bill
