Ukrainian government to consider bill on state of emergency in energy sector on Wednesday, says PM
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said that the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on Wednesday will consider a bill on introducing a state of emergency in the power industry.
"Tomorrow, the government will consider a bill on introducing the state of emergency in the energy sector. We should be prepared for the most difficult of circumstances. Therefore, the procedure for introducing the state of emergency in the energy market, control mechanisms, mechanisms for energy efficiency, should be stipulated in the law, and the government should have a leverage over the energy sector of the country," he said speaking in parliament on Tuesday.
According to him, an energy crisis headquarters have already been set up in the government. It is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman.
The task of the headquarters is to balance the energy resources, the supply and demand, and costs and efficiency, Yatseniuk added.
