Trilateral gas talks to be held in Kyiv on Saturday - source
Another round of the tripartite gas talks Ukraine-Russia-European Commission will be held in Kyiv today, a source in the Ukrainian government has told Interfax-Ukraine.
According to the source, representatives of the European Commission confirmed the willingness to participate in a meeting, and representatives of the Russian Federation gave their prior consent.
Earlier Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan and European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger discussed the possibility of holding the next round of tripartite gas talks next weekend in Kyiv or any other city of the EU. According to the European Commissioner, it is worthwhile to hold them at the level of businesses.
Ukraine and Russia brokered by the European Commission held several rounds of talks, but failed to reach a compromise decision so far.
