The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has decided to liquidate Brokbusinessbank (Kyiv) from June 11, 2014, the press service of the NBU has reported.
"Taking into account the proposals of the Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund… the NBU board decided to cancel the banking license of Brokbusinessbank and liquidate it," reads the report.
According to the report, the decision is stipulated in NBU resolution No. 339 of June 10, 2014.
Brokbusinessbank was founded in 1991. VETEK Group said it holds a 40% stake in the bank.
According to the bank, on January 1, 2014 Oleksandr Buriak owned 9.3961% of its shares, and Serhiy Buriak 9.3962%.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, on January 1, 2014 Brokbusinessbank ranked 16th in terms of total assets (UAH 28.914 billion) among the 180 banks operating in Ukraine.
