UAH 575 mln saved from presidential elections to be spent on army - Yatseniuk
The Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting on Wednesday intends to approve a draft law on amendments to the state budget, increasing its revenues by UAH 575 million using funds saved from the recent presidential elections in the country.
Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said, while opening a government meeting on Wednesday, that such an initiative had been put forward by President Petro Poroshenko.
"I would ask you to make a decision today on the adoption of a bill on amendments to the state budget for 2014, to redistribute the funds that were saved from the presidential elections in Ukraine and send them to the reserve fund so that they could be directed to fund the Armed Forces and the National Guard," he said.
