Trilateral gas talks to continue late on Tuesday or early on Wednesday - commissioner
Another round of Russian-Ukrainian gas talks involving a representative of the EU, which was held in Brussels early on Tuesday, has again ended without a final agreement.
"Our Ukrainian partners and our Russian partners have to speak with their governments and their heads of states, and negotiations could continue on Tuesday at nine o'clock in the evening or maybe on Wednesday at nine o’clock in the morning," EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger said early on Tuesday after a seven-hour meeting.
He noted that despite lengthy negotiations, including the issues of the gas price, existing contracts and the market situation, the parties still have "open questions" and "different positions."
