Ukraine to accumulate over 13 bcm of gas in underground storage facilities by July, says premier
Ukraine as of early July 2014 plans to accumulate over 13 billion cubic meters of gas in its underground storage facilities, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk.
"Over 12 billion cubic meters of gas has been accumulated in the Ukrainian gas storage facilities. I think that we'll finish this month with over 13 billion cubic meters of gas," he said while speaking in parliament on Friday, giving a report on 100 days of the work of the Ukrainian government.
The premier said that this was not enough for the autumn and winter heating season of 2014-2015, but said that the Ukrainian government would provide gas for heating for Ukrainian citizens this winter.
Ukraine continues the practice of diversifying natural gas supplies to the country and negotiations with Russia's Gazprom on the revision of the price of gas in the contract on gas supply.
