Ukrzaliznytsia mulling launch of Kyiv-Odesa high-speed train
State Railways Administration of Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia is mulling the launch of a high-speed train on the Kyiv-Odesa route.
According to the head of the main passenger department at Ukrzaliznytsia, Ihor Breus, it is planned to use the Ukraine-2 rolling stock produced by Kriukov Car Building Works on this route.
He did not specify the term of launching the train, noting that the issue is now under development.
As reported, the Ukrainian High-Speed Railway Company (Kyiv) in 2013 announced the plan to launch Intercity+ trains produced by Korea's Hyundai Rotem on the Kyiv-Odesa route in the traffic schedule for 2014/2015.
Previously, Ukrzaliznytsia planned by the end of 2012 to launch Intercity+ trains on the Kyiv-Odesa route.
