Ukraine has paid a $32.9 million coupon on 2016 eurobonds, the Finance Ministry reported on Wednesday.
The ministry said that the securities worth $1 billion were issued in November 2006 at 6.58% per annum. The coupon is paid twice a year.
According to the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, since early 2014 as of May 19, 2014 UAH 13.4 billion was sent to service the state debt, including UAH 3.27 billion to service the foreign debt with the target of UAH 16.8 billion for January-May 2014.
Over the period UAH 22.31 billion (UAH 2.27 billion) was paid for the principal of the debt with the target of UAH 46.88 billion.
State borrowing to the Ukrainian national budget since early 2014 as of May 19 came to UAH 56.64 billion, including UAH 23.29 billion of borrowing on the foreign market. The borrowing target for the five months amounts to UAH 102.51 billion.
