The State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine (Ukreximbank, Kyiv) has decided to close two branches in Crimea, in Simferopol and Sevastopol, the bank has reported in the information disclosure system of the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market of Ukraine.
According to the report, the supervisory board of the credit and financial institution on May 13 decided to close the said branches.
As reported, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in resolution No. 260 of May 6, 2014 banned Ukrainian banks from operating in Crimea until the end of Russian occupation.
The regional chain of the bank as of May 1, 2014 had 29 branches and 93 departments.
Ukreximbank was founded in 1992. According to the National Bank of Ukraine, on April 1, 2014 in terms of total assets (UAH 105.739 billion) Ukreximbank ranked third among the 181 banks operating in the country.
