Ukraine as of April 4 exports 27.7 mln tonnes of grain
Ukraine since the beginning of the current marketing year (MY, July 2013 - June 2014) and as of April 4 had exported 27.74 million tonnes of grain, which is 8 million tonnes more than last year, the press service of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food has said.
According to the authority, during this period, in particular, the country exported 7.8 million tonnes of wheat, 2.15 million tonnes of barley, and 17.5 million tonnes of maize.
As reported, with reference to data from the State Statistics Service, Ukraine in 2013 harvested nearly 63 million tonnes of grain, which is 36.3% more than in 2012.
The Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food expects grain exports from Ukraine to reach 33 million tonnes in the 2013/2014 marketing year.
