Ukrposhta suspends mail receipt and supply to Crimea and Sevastopol
Ukrainian state postal service company Ukrposhta has suspended the acceptance and delivery of mail in the direction of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol until the situation is settled, Ukrposhta has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"At present there are about 1,163 offices of Ukrposhta in Crimea and Sevastopol, but due to the forcible seizure of Crimea and Sevastopol and the blocking of all Ukrposhta post offices on the peninsula, the national operator was forced to suspend the receipt and delivery of mail in the direction of Crimea and Sevastopol until the situation is regulated," the interlocutor of the agency said.
Regarding personnel policy at Ukrposhta, the company said that in Crimea it is carried out by the Crimean and Sevastopol directorates of Ukrposhta independently, they have all the necessary powers for that.
As reported, Ukrposhta from March 27, 2014 started sending mail to Crimea as international mail via Russia.
