Ukraine's debt for gas to Russia comes to $2 bln, $169 mln paid in March – Prodan
Ukraine's debt for gas to the Russian Federation as of the settlement date of April 8 will be about $2 billion, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan has said at a press conference in Kyiv.
"When our government came, the debt of Naftogaz Ukrainy to Gazprom for last year was $1.451 billion. In addition, a debt for February has appeared. Over the month Ukraine paid $169 million for the gas consumed and today the debt for February is $261 million – this is what Ukraine has done today to repay debts. If we consider the fact that in March Ukraine will be charged $550 million, the total debt as of April 8 will be about $2 billion," he said.
