Naftogaz CEO to meet with Gazprom leadership next week, says energy minister
Board Chairman of the national gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy Andriy Kobolev will meet with Head of Russia's gas giant Gazprom Alexei Miller next week, Ukraine's Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Prodan has said.
"I spoke with Mr. Miller, and we agreed that next week he will find time to receive the new head of Naftogaz Ukrainy," Prodan said in Kyiv on Friday.
As reported earlier, the Russian Federation said that the Kharkiv accords should be denounced, which will lead to a rise in the price of Russian gas for Ukraine to about $480 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Prodan earlier said that Ukraine would not pay Russia's Gazprom more than $387 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas in the second quarter of 2014, and was planning to raise the charges for gas shipment through its network.
