Agriculture ministry says subsidiaries of Agrarian Fund could be liquidated
Two subsidiaries of the Agrarian Fund – Agrofund-grain and Agrofinfund – which were created in early 2014, could be liquidated if their creation is proved inappropriate during an audit.
"The audit check will be conducted for the Agrarian Fund, the decisions which were made regarding the creation of subsidiaries will be studied, as they have not worked yet. If there is a chance to add realistic sense to them, they will operate. If there is nothing to give to them, nothing stops us from revising the decision," Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Ihor Shvaika said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
Shvaika also said that the draft plan for the reduction of the budget expenses foresees a cut in financial support for agriculture. This will affect the program on the creation of a wholesale agricultural product market. Exhibitions of the ministry and the volume of state support for the cattle breeding sector could also be revised.
