Cabinet will have to take unpopular measures to get IMF loan - Yatseniuk
The Ukrainian government is ready to take unpopular measures to get a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ukraine Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.
"The government will take extremely unpopular measures," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
Yatseniuk said in comments to journalists after the press conference that the matter, in particular, concerns raising gas tariffs for the population.
"Yes, this is an increase in tariffs, this concerns subsidies, social programs," he explained.
The premier praised the progress of negotiations with international partners on issuing credits to Ukraine in a short amount of time.
